Congratulations to Zoe Rahimi & Jason Nolen on their March 25, 2017 wedding at the Vibiana in Los Angeles, CA. The venue was breathtaking, for which pictures do not do justice. It was a former church converted into an event center that retained the altar and church motif. The altar area was complete white marble with marble flooring and stairs. The brides runway was white marble planks. It was a Persian wedding. Although they did not have a traditional Persian ceremony, they did have a “huge” Persian Sofreh Aghd on display. After the brides entry, I explained (for the benefit of the non-Persian guests) the significance and symbolism of the Sofreh Aghd. I also delivered my open remarks in Farsi! The couple made a rose presentation to their moms and replaced the traditional sand ceremony with a glass ceremony, which is similar to the sand ceremony except that glass crystals are used which are later blown into a personalized glass sculpture (bowl, vase, etc.). The ceremony went flawless from start to finish with the perfect mix of seriousness, humor, laughter and some tears (of joy)! I’m sure all 200+ guests had as great a time at the reception as I had officiating for such a great couple! My very best for a great life together.
