I’ll take you back to my earlier days going to my friends’ weddings. It seemed like at every wedding I went to it was the same old boring dude with the monotone voice, spewing the same words over and over. I would dread having to sit through them.

Fast forward to 2003 when my best friend was getting married. I was set to be his best man, but in our conversations about the ceremony, we both shared stories of how we dreaded that boring old dude scenario. So since I was the professional actor in our friend circle, we decided that I could rewrite the playbook and make the ceremony awesome…. which it was! Everyone told me it was the best wedding they had ever seen. My friends all told me that I had found my “calling” as a WEDDING OFFICIANT.

So, I put up a website and couples started to flock to the new idea of making the ceremony fun and romantic. My goal was to have couples and their guests to be able to enjoy the ceremony and not have to endure it.

Soon I had more couples that I could handle and started bringing in new associated to cover the overload. Then people started asking for specialty officiants like Priests, Rabbis, Ministers, South Asian, Civil, Interfaith, Non-Religious, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Bilingual and Themed Weddings (my favorite).

Then couples needed a place to get instantly married so in 2008 I opened a boutique wedding chapel in Long Beach and called it Cute Little Wedding Chapel (www.cutelittleweddingchapel.com) to provide affordable, simple, and fun weddings for 2 to 30 guests. Couples could instantly get their marriage license and wedding in 30 min or less and didnt have to drive to Las Vegas and get married by the Justice of the Peace.

Also, Couples love the Beach. So, I created the So Cal Beach Weddings division (www.socalbeachweddings.com) where we do full setups or walk-on ceremonies on the beach for 2 to 300 guests in Los Angeles and Orange County Beaches. We learned everything possible about permits, insurance and locations both beaches and overlooks. Purchasing and building a variety of arches and amassing all sorts of draping and decorations as well as referals to other vendors to complete the couples visions.

To get married, couples need to get a marriage license. I, as well as a few of the Officiants, went through the long and challenging process of becoming a specialized notary for the County Clerk’s office so they could issue marriage licenses to our couples. Now if a couple is getting married in California we can deliver the marriage license to their home, office, even the wedding or at the convenient office in Long Beach.
