(English - Spanish)
Mel (they/them) is a queer, non-binary, neurospicy, half-Colombian non-denominational officiant/celebrant. Mel likes to use their screenwriting, storytelling, and stand-up comedy abilities to craft a beautiful, hilarious, and poignant ceremony that will leave people laughing and crying. Mel is often told that their ceremonies stand out to people, from the rainbow string ritual they like to incorporate, to being able to perform ceremonies in English and in Spanish. Mel believes that all belief systems and ways of life are valid, and they bring a warm and inclusive approach to their officiating. Mel particularly enjoys performing ceremonies for the LGBTQIA2S+ community and believes that Love is Love is Love is Love is LOVE.
Mel wants to bring that sparkle to your special day by bringing humor, insightfulness, and sentiment by composing your own very personal wedding narrative. We can use stories about the two of you, sprinkle in references to movies, shows, and music you cherish, recall places you’ve been together—both physically and emotionally—to paint the picture of the love you share for each other to your beloved guests.
Mel is based in the Long Beach area and travels all over So Cal
